Description of the Activity:

Co-operation between the PPGAA and the Center de Coopération Internationale in Recherch and Agronomique pour le Développement (CIRAD), based in Montpellier, France, was signed in 2014 for the development of the Eco-design and Territorial Development research project in the Brazilian Amazon (Ecoterra), carried out in the municipality of Paragominas. Representing the Program in the development of this project is the professor William Santos de Assis.

Description of the Activity:

Cooperation with the Tropical Conservationand Development program of the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Florida in the United States, through professor Noemi Sakiara Miyasaka Porro and Doctor Marianne Schmink. The partnership with this Program invited four professors from the PPGAA to teach a course on the Amazon to the students of this university, and also invited teachers from other Brazilian, Ecuadorian and American universities.

Description of the Activity:

In 2011, the Federal University of Pará started a cooperation with the Japan-based Tsukuba University, where the professor Noemi Sakiara Miyasaka taught classes and also lectures in a Master’s program with characteristics similar to the PPGAA. She was also participating in qualification boards at this university. In 2012, Professor Kenichi held a lecture at the Center for Agrarian Sciences and Rural Development (NCADR), in addition to field work in the city of Afuá. Cooperation between the institutions generated, in 2014, an article presenting the main discussions resulting from the partnership, submitted for publication in the Journal of International Indigenous Policies. The article was also attended by professors from the United Nations University, also based in Japan.

Description of the Activity:

Professors of the PPGAA have maintained exchanges with the Paulista State University of Botucatu and with the University of Lisbon, Portugal, jointly developing activities involving the topic of Repatriation of Botanical Information present in herbaria in Paris and London. This exchange has the participation of professor Gutemberg Guerra.

Description of the Activity:

The REFLORA project, developed through an exchange between the PPGAA and the Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho State University, aims at the retrieval and use of information and availability in the Authenticated Virtual Herbarium of Flora Species of Brazil.

Professor Flávio Barros, through an exchange between the PPGAA and the State University of Mato Grosso (UNEMAT, Cáceres), has participated in researches in the cerrado and marshlands region, mainly with traditional peoples, agrobiodiversity and the impacts of livestock on the life of communities.

Professor William Santos de Assis has been researching and supporting the Territorial Dynamics and Society in the Amazon Graduate Program, through an exchange between the PPGAA and the Federal University of the South and Southeast of Pará (UNIFESSPA). exchanges and cooperation projects with researchers from the Social Sciences Graduate Program of the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA).

Description of the Activity:

The PPGAA, through the Center for Agrarian Sciences and Rural Development (NCADR) of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), has carried out activities in partnership with Eastern Amazon EMBRAPA focused mainly on Family Agriculture. The activities of this partnership are implemented in strategic areas of the state of Pará, among which are the Self-Management Project, coordinated by Roberto Porro - a researcher at EMBRAPA - and integrated by professors Tatiana Sá and Noemi Porro and the Tipitamba Project, coordinated by Osvaldo Ryohei Kato - Researcher at EMBRAPA and Professor of the Program.
