Dialogue with Society

One of the hallmarks of the Program is the dialogue with the peasant society of the Amazon. This contact takes place through the provision of services, advisory services, accompaniment, and group animation, both through projects and through research that has been done with these social groups. Recently, teachers have supported associations of family farmers and other social categories in the access to public policies through the elaboration of projects, edicts, intervention actions, training and development. Integration with society is also carried out through extension projects such as the Agrarian Residence, which provides training for settlers, as well as intervention actions with farmers and riverside people in the various settlement areas linked to the students of the specialization course in agricultural and socialenvironmental development. Other projects have been conducting actions on sovereignty and food security for the public of the public schools in poor neighborhoods of Belém. In 2014, the Pindova project, supported by Petrobrás, was consolidated and the project to Strengthen Agroecological Practices of Women in Amazonia, supported by the Ministry of Agrarian Development, which maintain food safety workshops associated with the establishment of vegetable gardens and orchards and food processing.
